Have these woods always been here?  Why is there a park here anyway?  Enjoy Waterloo’s brilliant fall foliage while learning of the natural and human histories that have played roles in the evolution of Waterloo’s landscape we see today.  DNR interpreter and Master Naturalist, Doug Jackson, will lead you on a 5-mile hike from the lower parking lot through the scenic Hickory Hills trail and back.  Sturdy footwear and binoculars recommended.
